The Flametrick Subs is a high-energy, theatrical, Austin, Texas based band. The group was started in 1989 by guitarist/singer, Buster Crash. The band’s style is a tongue-in-cheek combination of rockabilly, garage, surf, and B-movie soundtracks. The show is a guilty-pleasure fueled high-speed train wreck with a rockabilly beat. Feel good now… Feel bad tomorrow.
The band has released six full albums beginning with the 1991 release of “Amaze Your Friends with X-Ray Glasses!” on Teen Rebel Records. The next album, “Undead at the Black Cat Lounge” was a live recording at the now defunct, legendary Austin venue, released on Last Call Records. The group then released their third record, “Something in Japanese” on Austin-based Kransky Records. Following several West Coast tours, the group went back into the studio and recorded “Voodoo Doo”, out on Texas Flat Lizard Records. The stage at World-famous Antone’s in Austin was the setting for “Six Feet Deep in the Heart of Texas”, a combination Live Album/DVD released by Texas Flat Lizard. The band’s last release; a tribute to The Cramps’ singer, Lux Interior, entitled “In the Lap of Luxury” came out in 2015, also on Texas Flat Lizard.
