Stephen Joseph Rideau “Step” was born in 1966 in the little St. Landry Parish town of LeBeau , Louisiana. Surrounded by Creole culture and zydeco music from infancy, it wasn’t until relocating to Houston in the mid-1980’s that he began to play the accordion and eventually formed his own band. Today, Step Rideau is widely acknowledged worldwide as one of the living masters of the instrument.
Raa-Raa Zydeco – At it’s finest is best expressed in dance by those who immediately keep the dance floor occupied and clothes often seen dripping wet with sweat from their bodies. This is always one of those factors when you come to Zydeco with Raa-Raa & Da Zydeco Allstarz. Raa-Raa, hails from a french speaking creole family from Lafayette Parish in Lousiana and others who migrated from Avoyelles Parish. He reflects even the more growing up listening to authentic zydeco and lala music as in the styles of Clifton Chenier, Rocking Dopsie, Buckheat Zydeco, and many more.
